School Shoes Distribution

The aim of Education Assistance Program is to provide underprivileged students with good school consumables to promote literacy and to eventually enhance enrollment and retention in schools.Most of our Fairtrade certified cotton fields are located in two Tehsils (Haroonabad and Fortabbas) of District Bahawalnagar. Majority of children near SAS cotton fields attend primary schools ran by provincial government. Due to inflation, students studying in nearby schools were not able to afford proper school consumables such as school bags, stationary, notepads, school shoes and uniforms.
As school bags stationary notepads and other consumables were recently distributed by SAS as part of education assistance program. Team of SAS noticed that the shoes students wore to the school were not suited for such harsh weather of Tehsils (Haroonabad and Fortabbas) of District Bahawalnagar. SAS decided to provide good quality school shoes made of Genuine Leather and TPR sole to the students of Government Primary Schools.
Six schools were invited to Bajwa Cotton Ginning and Oil Mill (Additional entity of South Asian Sourcing Pvt Ltd.) for distribution of school shoes. Team of SAS visited five schools individually and distributed the school shoes in the schools premises.

School shoes are an essential item for primary school students, especially in areas where the weather can be harsh or unpredictable. Leather shoess are highly resistant to wear and tear, making them an excellent investment for parents and schools. The shoes have a TPR sole, which is a high-performance rubber material that offers excellent traction and durability. The TPR sole provides superior grip and stability, reducing the risk of slips and falls on wet or slippery surfaces. The TPR sole also provides excellent shock absorption, which reduces foot fatigue and discomfort. The shoes have a sturdy outsole that provides excellent traction and stability. This feature ensures that students can walk confidently on any surface, whether it’s a slippery floor or a rough terrain. Moreover, the shoes have a breathable upper that keeps the feet cool and dry, reducing the chances of developing fungal infections or unpleasant odors. The upper also protects the feet from external elements, such as dust, water, or sharp objects. The shoes are designed with a lace-up closure that ensures a snug and secure fit. This feature helps to prevent the shoes from slipping or rubbing against the feet, reducing the risk of developing blisters or calluses.

School Bag Distribution

Educational Assistance Program is being hosted by SAS since 2015. In 2022 students were provided with school kits under Education Assistance Program. One school kit contained: High quality school bag, Notepads , Pens, Lead Pencils, Sharpeners, Erasers, Color Pencils, Rulers, Paper board, Ink pens, Pencil case, Mathematical geometry box, Lunch Box, Water bottle, Face masks, Sanitizers and other essentials which were enough for a year of use. While syllabus books were being provided by the government.
